CA nonprofit captures new $3 million federal grant
(7/22/10) The Social Innovation Fund (SIF), a new federal program award intended “to expand the impact of high-performing organizations and innovative solutions to issues
in three key areas: economic opportunity, youth development and school support, and healthy futures” – has announced that San Francisco nonprofit REDF is the only California-based grantee in its first-ever round of grants. SIF is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service and the $3 million award to SIF over two years will “allow statewide expansion of programs that create jobs for Californians overcoming homelessness, addiction, incarceration...” and will be accompanied by “strategic support in areas such as impact evaluation.” For more information see the press release from REDF.
