Expert Interviews

If you're a media representative who would like to schedule an expert interview with someone about the California nonprofit sector, CAN is the place for you!

  1. E-mail or call one of CAN's resident experts listed below. They'll answer any general questions you have and provide resources for your reporting needs.
  2. If you have questions CAN staff can't answer, we'll put you in touch with someone from our network of nonprofit experts in topics, sub-sectors and locales all across the state and even the country.
  3. If you ever have a follow-up question or need further information, please call us back!

If you're a reporter on deadline and you can't reach the person you need, please call Kathy Crabb at (213) 347-2070, ext. 209.

Resident Experts at CAN

Flo Green, CAN's Executive Director, can answer practically any question you pose to her about California nonprofits, complex nonprofit operations, data and statistics, leadership, governance, legal structure and much, much more. She's also a highly engaging and quotable source. Reach her here or by calling (213) 347-2070, ext. 204.

Ken Larsen, CAN's Public Policy Director, is an expert on public policy, legislation and regulations that impact nonprofit organizations and the sector as a whole, as well as lobbying and advocacy by nonprofits -- both the laws that dictate those activities and the ways to do them most effectively. He's also great at translating the confounding vocabulary of the world of politics into plain English for the rest of us. Reach him here or by calling (916) 402-1335.

Members of the CAN Policy Council, the CAN Regional Partners Network and CAN's Advisory Body to the Attorney General come from a wide cross-section of sub-sectors and locales across the state. In addition to calling CAN, you might also find someone there who can speak more specifically to the particular issue you're currently working on.

Let us help you write your story!
